One look at Carly Burlson’s style and it’s obvious she has a few things beautifully mastered. Neutrals, modern classics and minimalism. Everything from her home decor to her wardrobe are carefully edited down to the most meaningful and essential pieces. Even her work-life is thoughtfully constructed.
Earlier this Fall, I spent the afternoon with Carly and her precious daughter Elie, husband Kyle and doggy Remy in their historic Fort Worth home. Their home has the most incredible natural light throughout (a photographer’s dream). We watched Elie work with her paints and play chef in the kitchen in between conversations about social enterprise and the burgeoning community of Fort Worth creatives. That’s what I love about Carly… she’s as comfortable being “mom” at home in the land of make-believe and storybooks as she is in the business sector amongst start-ups and entrepreneurs.
Carly’s background is in the fashion industry but most recently, she launched a company called Tribe Alive which strives to deliver distinctive fashion via responsible commerce. By doing so, she and her team aim to alleviate poverty among marginalized women specifically as it relates to the problem of economic insecurity and child-relinquishment. It’s a moving story and one that you’ll hear more about in Carly’s podcast interview. In the meantime, join me as we take a peek inside her her home and style.
Come back for a new and improved podcast with Carly. Our conversation is one of my favorites to date!
