The Other Side of Style

The OSoS… No. 3

This week was supposed to be all about work.

I was booked to style a food shoot and had everything in our life arranged to support that – Day care reserved… Dog walker scheduled… Milk in freezer and prepped for the week. All was good until Thursday morning when my baby woke up with a 101.4 temperature (his first fever ever. thanks day care) and the saddest little expression on his face. Needless to say, plans changed and now, instead of being the working mama I had prepared for, I’m stuck at home being “Susie Homemaker”. Dishes, vacuuming, diapers, laundry. Oh, Lordy, you should see the laundry! The tiny basket of clothes in the photo above makes my current pile look like the overflowing well in the Sorcerer’s Apprentice. It just won’t stop coming!

On another day, I might be frustrated with the loss of income and forfeited dog walking fees, but yesterday Gabriel laughed for the first time in his life and I was home to hear it. My world is turned upside down and now all I can think about is making this baby laugh one more time.

So, there… Bring it, universe! I’ll take your Murphy’s Law and raise you a baby’s joyous laughter!!

jk. please be gentle.

So, tell me about your silver-linings this week.
