PLACE: Dallas, TX

WORK: Production and E-commerce Manager for Peacock Alley / Bassist for The Black Frames

STORY: People who try new things despite possible embarrassment or discomfort are endlessly inspiring to me. Laura Busby is one such highly inspiring person and I’m thrilled to introduce you to her today.

This girl is not afraid to step out of her comfort zone into unknown creative territory. And if she is, she goes for it anyways. Be that in the form of an adult ballet class, a beginner’s gig as a bassist for a band, or shooting video for local interior designers. Laura goes for it. In her day job, she’s is a manager of e-commerce and catalog production at the Dallas-based bedding company, Peacock Alley. With her free time, Laura’s creative interests are broad. Among other things, they include an avid appreciation for live music and a budding videography hobby (note: she created THIS video of me styling for Abbe Fenimore of Studio Ten 25). In short, she’s a wonderfully fascinating gal to chat with and a great inspiration for those of us wanting to expand our own horizons as well.

Laura describes her style as tailored classic with accents of global travel. What I love about Laura’s place is that you can find hints of her interests and passions scattered throughout. Music album covers on the wall, a large movie collection lining the floor, art and home decor from her travels, a mandolin in the corner, craft projects under tables, and beautiful bedding… of course!

Join me on a tour of her charming Dallas apartment and “tailored global” Style Story.

Another great real-life story – thank you, Hil!! One of the many things i LOVE about your Style Stories is how livable they are…beautiful, unique and daily. I grew up in a time when “stylish” meant “don’t touch it, leave it alone, go live in another part of the house!”. So – seeing Love of Life & Space collide is awesome to me!! I can’t wait to see each one…

Cindy, thank you!! I seriously might write a blog post inspired by your sentiments. “Love of life and space”… “Beautiful, unique, and daily”… Brilliant!! These are precisely the sentiments and values I want to share with this blog.
