Then I started the process of tracking down unique pieces to replace some very worn out furniture we had been holding onto. After much late night searching, I came across the coolest designer sofa on Craigslist. Yes, it’s white – ivory, actually. Apparently, I like matching my sofas to my pets. Next, I put together a design board on Decorist using snapshots of existing furniture, images of similar looking placeholders and a couple new items I planned to purchase. The board was a rough draft but gave me a crucial sneak peek at what I could expect from my finished space.
So, here’s the board I created.
And here’s the final space! It is such a significant improvement from our original room, in my opinion. I wanted to brighten and liven the room with color and light neutrals. My ivory sofa from Craigslist, bold blue rug from Jonathan Adler for JCP, and starburst mirror from Target pulled the space together nicely.
