Dana Pugh has the uncanny ability to, as some might say, make a silk purse out of a sal’s ear. She has a true gift of rescue and recovery when it comes to old, tattered things and her Coppell, TX home is a direct reflection of that. Between frequent trips to estate sales, junk yards, and flea markets, she has curated a warm and cozy abode for her family of four men, husband Nathanael and sons Reagan, Corbin, and Gavin. As Dana describes it, their suburban home was the ugliest house on the block and one that no one seemed willing to purchase. But, in typical Dana fashion, she had a vision beyond the outdated wallpaper and grungy carpet and saw something much more than what was just on the surface.
Flash forward to several years later and you’d hardly guess it was the same home. Grungy carpeting gone. Outdated wallpaper removed and replaced with crisp coats of white and gray paint. It’s no wonder she has a reputation for transformation! In addition to her design skills, which she shares on her blog and with a dedicated group of interior design clients, Dana has a story for each and every piece in her home. Of course, you know this is right up my alley! So, just in the nick of time for Christmas, I hopped over to Dana’s for a quick photo shoot. I think you’ll agree, Dana’s perfectly imperfect style is completely charming and utterly inspiring.
You must know that this home and it’s precious inhabitants have so many beautiful stories to tell! Come back tomorrow to hear just a few from Dana herself. I learned so many helpful tips for decorating with repurposed items during my chat with Dana. I’m sure you’ll take a few good things home with you too.
See you tomorrow!
