I came across this quote on the J.Crew blog (the only company blog I follow, because it’s just that great) and I love what it implies. Style is mysterious. It’s not a formula. We each have our own distinct expression of it. And it’s not a matter of right or wrong, trends or fashions. Our handwriting is like a fingerprint. It’s unmistakably unique and not surprisingly telling. It can show where our interests lie, where we place our priorities, what we think of ourselves, and how we wish to be perceived. It can be surface deep or soul enriching. Your choice, your style.
Today, we’re going on a visit to Jennifer Blumenstock’s home in Dallas. Jennifer is one creative part behind the jewelry line, Three Bishops. She and her two other sisters, Melody and Natalie, have grown the line into a wonderfully successful collection that is now sold in 25 stores nationwide. Jennifer and her husband Robert and children Rowan and Audrey moved to Dallas five years ago from Atlanta, GA. Since then, they’ve made a comfortable, beautiful home in Texas.
After chatting and touring a bit around Jennifer’s home recently, it became obvious that her personal style reveals some truly wonderful things about her life. In condensed form, Jennifer appreciates things that are relaxed and laid back. Family and creativity play a key role in day-to-day life and especially when the two are combined. She’s not afraid of an occasional creative risk. Modernity is of particular interest. And she has a soft-spot for growing, living things.
Take a tour with me and see what I mean.
