We danced together (and laughed, and learned, and partied together) at Middle Tennessee State University when we both performed with the MTSU Dance Threatre dance back in the day. On my last trip home to Nashville, we caught up at her parents’ place for a quick chat and photo session.
You see, Kathryn is one of those girls who has always been supremely stylish. I don’t know how she does it or what her strategy is but I’m pretty sure it’s actually not having a strategy that makes her so chic. She has that uncanny ability to frequently and easily pull together an outfit that is cool and quirky, flattering and perfectly individual. It seems (note “seems”) completely effortless. But here’s my theory… with a few easy to remember notes, it’s actually incredibly simple and accessible!
Note #1 – Know yourself and what you like. (Ok, that’s simple but not easy.)
Note #2 – Forget trends. Wear only what you love… no ifs, ands, or buts.
Note #3 – Don’t worry about what other people think about your new found style.
Again, easier said than done. But let’s say we could pull those things off consistently and unapologetically. Wouldn’t it feel good? If it works for Kathryn maybe it will work for us! Let’s give it a try.
And now, my friend Kathryn.
Ok, I’m officially re-inspired by Kathryn’s easy charm and laid back style. How about you? What are you going to change to find the best version of your style?
