This tucked away corner of Sarah’s home, her studio space, is the retreat that many of us probably dream of. It’s quiet, contemplative, inviting, multi-use, comfortable, and, of course, full of beautiful things. When Sarah and I sat down for her interview, I was immediately struck by the peace of the place. Where the rest of the house was bustling with the activity of family life with two young boys, this room was respectfully left unbothered.
In addition to the atmosphere of her studio, I was equally impressed by the obviously well-planned multi-use of the room. Desk and library in one corner, easel and art cart in another. A conference table for gatherings and workshops. Lounge area, sewing station, music corner… it’s all there! Much like Sarah herself, her studio is multi-faceted, multi-tasking, vibrant, and warm. No wonder she gets so much beautiful art work done in here!
(Pssst… If you’re curious about how the whole of the room is put together, check out this page on Sarah’s website.)
Come back tomorrow, friends, to hear my conversation with Sarah. Among other things, we talked being an artist and a mom, budget decorating, time management, and life with a precious child with special needs. It’s perhaps one of my favorite chats so far… don’t miss it!
