They’ve nestled themselves into a charming craftsman style bungalow in the Fairmount neighborhood, which as it turns out, is just minutes from my favorite coffee shop in town. Their three children, Drake, Luke, and Stella, are about as adorable as they come. And their home, which Misty has masterfully decorated using mostly second-hand and thrifted home goods, is about as close to my personal style as I’ve come across yet. In short, I think I could spend a lot more time with these sweet folks.
Reflecting on the time I’ve spent with Misty so far, I can share a few important notes about Misty and her style. She studied interior design in school and then changed tracks to pursue a rather intriguing niche of organic hairstyling. With their family just barely started, Misty and her husband moved to Brooklyn, NY for a short stint. Eventually, they made their way back to Fort Worth and Misty made her way back to design. Now, with her newly launched design business, Objects Living Co., she plays the balancing act between family, home, hair styling, and design… and quite well, from what I can tell!
More important than her impressive entrepreneurial accomplishments, however, is one prevailing philosophy that seems to crop up in everything Misty does. You can do a lot with a little and some times even with what you already have. Ah, what a refreshing thought!
