Patrick and Cindy Craine are my neighbors but I had never met them until the day of this shoot. For months, I drove by their unexpectedly modern house amidst our neighborhood of eclectic – and most definitely more traditional – homes and wondered about the unique family and furnishings that must live inside. One day not long before our meeting, I finally mustered the courage and solicited a house feature with a simple handwritten note, carefully signed and delivered at their doorstep. To my delight, the family inside was as charming and inviting as I could have ever hoped! An added plus… their laid back, modern style is completely captivating. At the time I met them, Patrick was studying architecture at Southern Methodist University and Cindy was home with the kiddos in Fort Worth raising a fine pair, if I may say so.

Eloise, Patrick and Cindy’s oldest child, graciously offered her services as my tour guide… we had a jolly time.

And Oliver, Eloise’s younger brother, was happy to sit in his design-forward high chair while observing my shenanigans. He eventually joined in the fun as well.

So, what are we waiting on… let’s get started!

Before publishing this post from my Hilary Inspired archive, I thought I would check in with Patrick and Cindy to see if any big changes had taken place in their lives. You know, like house additions, new paint colors, or educational developments. Big but not huge. Boy, was I surprised to hear their response! It seems the Craine family is moving onward and upward in their pursuit of modern design and wholesome family living. They are now living in Manhattan where Patrick is attending Columbia University for a second masters in advanced architectural design.

Congratulations, sweet Craine family! Don’t be surprised if another handwritten note drops on your doorstep in New York as well.

All of the above…

What a beautiful, open and white space. I bet their Manhattan home is equally as lovely! 🙂
